It's been a rather slack day for me, so I had time to think about some of the things that happened to me today...

In the circle of people that we encounter each day in our school/workplace, there's always a person (or people) that we don't really like. Some we really detest, others we simply laugh at them for their stupidity/foolishness/inflexibility/etc. We do so by de-humanising the person in question, for it is easier to detach oneself from someone whom you don't really know.

I had a talk with one of my superiors today while we were driving around in the depot. Now this guy in particular is reviled for being blur and is somewhat of an arrow king, so naturally I wasn't looking forward to spending quality time with this guy. Yet as he continued to talk to me, it set me thinking about some things. No, I wasn't changing my perception of this guy just yet, but I began to wonder: must we always spend our lives judging people to this extent? How much of what we perceive as oppression really stems from what is really the higher-ups leaning on them...

Anyway, I learnt one lesson today: people are like a bowl of rojak. The ingredients may not individually taste as nice as the next one, but taken together they taste good all right. The bad people in your life are there to make you appreciate the good ones all the better, and the bad people themselves may also have worthy qualities despite all the detritius on the outside.

It's way past normal sleeping hours, and I'm bored, so I thought I'd post something on this blog...
I recently saw Infernal Affairs the 3rd instalment...how did you guys find it?

Anyway, it got me thinking about the whole series, trying to piece together the entire storyline, and then I hit upon something rather unexpected. Those of who saw the first movie, there's a scene towards the end where Tony Leung goes to Kelly Chen's character's place, and they confess their feelings for each other... it ended showing them sharing an embrace.

What's the point of all this? Think about it, just about every movie to hit the silver screen has subconsciously implanted the idea that love must culminate with sex, or at the very least heavy face-sucking. If they don't get down 'n dirty, it ain't worth it. I hope I'm not the only person around who found that scene with both of them more romantic than most of the kissing scenes in any given movie...
